# Creation Modes

> **Note:** Character Studio offers multiple ways to create characters, from AI-powered instant generation to detailed manual editing. Choose the mode that fits your workflow.

## Overview

Character Studio provides four distinct creation modes:

## Choosing the Right Mode

### Quick Create

**Use when you:**

* Have an image and want a character fast
* Need a starting point to customize later
* Want to see what AI generates from visual input

**How it works:** Upload or generate an image, and AI creates a complete character based on visual analysis.

### Agent Mode

**Use when you:**

* Want to collaboratively build a character
* Have ideas but need help developing them
* Prefer a conversational workflow

**How it works:** Chat with an AI assistant that asks questions and builds your character iteratively.

### Blueprint Editor

**Use when you:**

* Need precise control over every aspect
* Want AI help for specific fields
* Are creating complex, detailed characters

**How it works:** Structured form with nine sections, each offering AI-assisted generation and manual editing.

### Expert Mode

**Use when you:**

* Know exactly what you want
* Are importing and editing existing content
* Prefer raw editing without guidance

**How it works:** Direct field editing in the Character Studio interface.

## Switching Between Modes

You can start in one mode and transition to another:

1. **Quick Create → Blueprint Editor**
   * Generate with Quick Create
   * Click "Continue to Editor"
   * Fine-tune in Blueprint Editor
2. **Agent Mode → Blueprint Editor**
   * Complete Agent conversation
   * Click "Edit in Studio"
   * Access full Blueprint Editor
3. **Any Mode → Expert Mode**
   * Open character in editor
   * All fields are editable directly

## Access Creation Modes

To access any creation mode:

1. Click **Create** in the sidebar
2. Select your preferred mode from the dropdown:
   * **Quick Create** — AI-powered instant creation
   * **Agent Mode** — Conversational building (if available)
   * **Expert Mode** — Start from scratch
   * **Import** — Import existing character cards
