# Import & Export

> **Note:** Character Studio supports importing characters from multiple platforms and exporting in standard formats. Easily move characters between tools and share your creations.

Import and export features:

## Import Wizard

Access the Import Wizard:

1. Click **Create** in sidebar
2. Select **Import**
3. Choose import method

### Import Methods

| **Character.ai** | Import from Character.ai exports   |
| **PNG Card**     | Standard CCv2/CCv3 character cards |
| **JSON**         | Raw JSON character data            |
| **CAK**          | Character Asset Kit files          |

## Export Options

Export from any character:

1. Open character in Character Studio
2. Click **Export** button
3. Choose format:
   * **PNG Card** — Shareable image with data
   * **JSON** — Raw data file
   * **CAK** — Complete bundle

## Best Practices

### Importing

1. **Check format** — Verify file is valid before importing
2. **Review data** — Inspect imported content for quality
3. **Edit as needed** — Customize for Character Studio features
4. **Test** — Run benchmarks on imported characters

### Exporting

1. **Save first** — Ensure latest changes are saved
2. **Choose format** — Select appropriate format for destination
3. **Include assets** — Use CAK for complete exports
4. **Test import** — Verify export works on target platform
