# Testing & Quality

> **Note:** Character Studio provides comprehensive testing tools to evaluate and improve your character's quality. Use these tools to ensure consistent, immersive interactions.

Testing and quality features include:

## Why Test Characters?

## Quality Dimensions

Character Studio evaluates characters across six key dimensions:

| Dimension       | What It Measures                       |
| --------------- | -------------------------------------- |
| **Consistency** | Does the character stay in role?       |
| **Immersion**   | Does it avoid AI/assistant language?   |
| **Memory**      | Does it remember conversation details? |
| **Emotion**     | Are emotional responses appropriate?   |
| **Narrative**   | Does it advance the story well?        |
| **Stress**      | How does it handle edge cases?         |

## Quick Start

### Run a Quick Test

1. Open your character in Character Studio
2. Go to the **Arena** tab
3. Click **Quick Test**
4. Review the instant quality score

### Run a Full Benchmark

1. Open your character in Character Studio
2. Go to the **Arena** tab
3. Select a scenario set (Platform or Custom)
4. Click **Run All Scenarios**
5. Wait for comprehensive results

## Understanding Results

### Overall Score

Characters receive a score from 0-100:

| Score Range | Quality Level | Action                         |
| ----------- | ------------- | ------------------------------ |
| 90-100      | Excellent     | Ready to publish               |
| 75-89       | Good          | Minor improvements recommended |
| 50-74       | Fair          | Review suggested fixes         |
| 0-49        | Needs Work    | Significant revisions needed   |

### Per-Dimension Breakdown

Each dimension receives its own score:

* Green (80+): Strong performance
* Yellow (50-79): Room for improvement
* Red (<50): Needs attention

## Common Issues

| Issue         | Symptom                      | Solution               |
| ------------- | ---------------------------- | ---------------------- |
| Role breaks   | Character says "As an AI..." | Add immersion defense  |
| Inconsistency | Personality changes          | Strengthen description |
| Poor memory   | Forgets details              | Use pinned memories    |
| Flat emotions | Robotic responses            | Add emotional examples |
